Weekend Thoughts and Interesting Finds
Happy Weekend! Today’s post is a hodgepodge of things I’ve found over the past week that I think are interesting! I have so many things on my mind right now with a daughter getting married and a new baby in the family…not to mention just life itself!
This past weekend, we found the venue for our daughter Rebecca’s wedding and it’s going to be so beautiful! Carolina Grove is not far from our home and in an amazing wooded setting. It feels as if you’re in the middle of nowhere, but very close to hotels and not far from the airport so it’s perfect! I can’t wait to start planning and dress shopping!
Also, as you know, we welcomed William Bristol McHugh into the family and looking at baby clothes has become my obsession! There are so many more options for little boys than even two or three years ago! One purchase that I’m really excited about is a weighted blanket (really more like a swaddle) that I think baby will love and I ordered this one for myself!
Always living in my Spanx and Marc Fisher booties and the tie dye sweatshirt from Loft is on sale!!

Home Decor
I’ve been thinking of redecorating the house just a little and maybe lightening things up a bit! I’m obsessed with the room below because of the light and airy feel!
There are so many elements to this kitchen that I love! Lately, I’m really drawn to spaces with natural light. I also like the open shelving and large subway tile. Se more of Joanna Gaines kitchen in Architectural Digest
This kitchen is totally different except for the open shelving and the great light coming in! I think that’s what I’m drawn to the most right now!
Just dreaming…
Shopping
I am completely obsessed with every single item on the Emerson Fry Website and I think you will be too!
On the off chance you have anywhere to wear a pair of tights with hearts on them, I’ve linked a few pair below. It’s a fun look for Valentine’s Day!
This cute cardigan from TopShop will be great going into spring and perfect as a layering piece for now…and you can’t beat the price!
What to Watch Now
Let’s face it…these days, Netflix and HBO Max are more popular than ever! It’s the best entertainment around and luckily there are some really great shows! Here are a few of my favorites!
We started watching Lupin this week and have almost finished it because it’s so good! The suspense is real and it’s such an interesting story! “As a teenager, Assane Diop's life was turned upside down when his father died after being accused of a crime he didn’t commit. 25 years later, Assane will use "Arsène Lupin, Gentleman Burglar" as his inspiration to avenge his father.” Definitely one to watch!
Bridgerton made the blog several weeks ago, but that was before we actually watched it! Never mind the fascinating story, it’s the fashion that wins the prize in my mind! Whether you’ve watched the series or not, you’ll enjoy this article from Stylecaster about how Bridgerton has influenced Spring trends!
Kristen Hannah is one of my favorite authors and her New York Times bestselling novel Firefly Lane is heading to the small screen. Netflix has released the first teaser for its Firefly Lane series starring Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke. Like the book, Firefly Lane will tell the decades-spanning story of two best friends as they navigate the ups and downs of school, relationships, and, later, their professional careers. Firefly Lane premiers February 3, so mark your calendars because this one is going to be great!
I remember loving to watch Julia Child when I was little. The French Chef was entertaining and educational at the same time! Julia Child was one of the most renowned chefs and interesting people of our time and that’s why I’m so excited about the new series, Julia, coming soon on HBO Max.
Julia is inspired by Julia Child’s extraordinary life and her long-running television show. The series will explore an evolving time in American history, feminism and the nature of celebrity and cultural growth in America. “The series is a portrait of a loving marriage with an evolving and complicated power dynamic.” If you're a fan of the hit 2009 movie Julie & Julia starring Meryl Streep as Julia Child and Amy Adams as her young emulator (aren't we all?), then you'll probably love this new show.
Julia Child transformed the way we talk about food during her career. The French Chef was the precursor to the now popular genre of cooking shows that exist today. Although there isn’t a set air date for the series yet, production has begun for the eight-episode inaugural season and is being filmed in Boston! This is something to look forward to!
