This & That Sunday Edition

Finally, I have my Thanksgiving table set and even a little bit of Christmas decorating done! The days and weeks are flying by and I’m excited for my girls and grandchildren to all be here for the holidays. Even though the preparations for Thanksgiving and Christmas are exhausting, it really is a magical time of the year and I’m trying to slow down just a bit and enjoy. Yesterday, I took almost an entire day to decorate and plan for the upcoming weeks and really accomplished a lot. When I got up this morning, the house was so pretty and clean and it felt amazing! I’m trying to forget at this point that the whole upstairs is a mess because of our bathroom renovation and just focus on what I have control over!

Today, I’m sharing a little bit of this and a little bit of that as I sit on the sofa, drinking a cup of coffee with Amos curled up next to me sleeping. I hope you enjoy!

These pictures were taken at my friend Kim’s house. She is a decorator extraordinaire…as you can see by the background in these pictures. She came yesterday to help me with my decorating (so grateful)! It’s always nice to have another eye and some different ideas. Kim has started a blog called Tables pour Deux that you’ll love! She’s gorgeous, such a talented decorator, a great cook and full of ideas!

I’m wearing a fabulous dress from Untuckit in these pictures and it’s one of my favorite holiday pieces! It’s such a simple dress that makes a big statement! It’s gotten really cold here (okay cold for NC), and I decided to wear tights and my Roger Vivier pumps so that my legs would be warm. I’ll definitely be wearing this dress to a holiday party!

I snapped these pictures a little while ago and they’re not the best, but they give you an idea of what my mantle looks like. I found a huge box of really gorgeous pink and orange ribbon that I had totally forgotten about and we used that for the bows. I’ll add a little more when Thanksgiving is over, but I’m so enjoying it for now!

I also have a huge box of ribbon coming from Amazon…some for our tree and some for packages. I’m going all out this year - just trying not to think about the cleanup in January! If you’re looking for gift wrapping ideas, be sure to check out this post!

I made these adorable mugs for my grandsons for a little get-in-the-spirit early gift! I purchased the mugs at Home Goods and ordered the hot chocolate mix and most of the candy and cellophane bags from Amazon. These were a big hit and so easy to put together!

Best Sellers For November…

And a Recipe…

I first published this delicious recipe last year in December and I’ve been craving it! It’s such an easy and delicious (and festive) recipe to serve for lunch or a light dinner, or cut it into pieces and serve it with a bottle of wine!

I’m off to grocery shop for Thanksgiving and hopefully beat the crowd! Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing pictures of my Thanksgiving table so be sure to check back! Have a wonderful Sunday!
