Neutral Elegance for Spring
Today is move-in day and I couldnβt be more excited! The movers are coming at 9 am to get everything out of the pod thatβs been in our driveway since January and move it all back into our bedroom (well most of it). We still wonβt have a bed until the 14th, but at least Iβll be able to pull my car into the driveway by the door. You never realize what a luxury that is until you canβt do it!
I went yesterday and got a Sleep Number bed that will be delivered on the 14th and thatβs when Iβll feel like itβs all really coming to an end. I had to have a bed frame made to go with the headboard and that wonβt be done when the bed gets hereβ¦but itβs one step at a time.
Iβm so ready to get the inside of the house put back together so that I can get outside and work in the yard. I really love to spend a day planting flowers and getting my pots done for spring. I have two huge new terra cotta planters on the front porch and Iβm trying to figure out what to put in them. We have so much shade that even ferns donβt do so well after a while. I wonder if I just need to fertilize more often or if itβs just that theyβre not getting enough light. I normally donβt plant themβ¦I just set them down into the planter in their original pots, so that may be it as well. If anyone has any adviceβ¦I would love to know!
This little gazebo also needs some love! I realized that it hasnβt been painted since our daughter Lauren got married in 2014 so itβs definitely time. When we do our big kitchen renovation, sadly, itβll have to come down, but we wonβt be starting this summer (I need a break), so Iβll get out there and paint it one day soon. Iβm kind of looking forward to it! The dogs will love to run around while Iβm painting!
Andβ¦about my outfit! Iβm almost head to toe in Brochu Walker. I think this brand exudes a relaxed and elegant lifestyleβ¦one Iβm not living at the time, but a girl can dream! The fabrics are luxurious and everything is so cozy and comfortable but still very elevated! Iβve had the pants since last spring and I paired them with a new short sleeve cardigan that Iβm loving! It goes with everythingβ¦so cute with jeans and flats, and itβs also great unbuttoned with a tank underneath! The Marc Fisher sandals Iβm wearing are some of my favorites. Theyβre very affordable and come in other colors. The style they did this season is slightly different, but still very versatile. My fabulous bag is from Savette and Iβm obsessed with the color. Itβs olive but brown at the same time and seems to match everything.
The azaleas are starting to bloom and so beautiful!
