Neutral Elegance for Spring

Today is move-in day and I couldn’t be more excited! The movers are coming at 9 am to get everything out of the pod that’s been in our driveway since January and move it all back into our bedroom (well most of it). We still won’t have a bed until the 14th, but at least I’ll be able to pull my car into the driveway by the door. You never realize what a luxury that is until you can’t do it!

I went yesterday and got a Sleep Number bed that will be delivered on the 14th and that’s when I’ll feel like it’s all really coming to an end. I had to have a bed frame made to go with the headboard and that won’t be done when the bed gets here…but it’s one step at a time.

I’m so ready to get the inside of the house put back together so that I can get outside and work in the yard. I really love to spend a day planting flowers and getting my pots done for spring. I have two huge new terra cotta planters on the front porch and I’m trying to figure out what to put in them. We have so much shade that even ferns don’t do so well after a while. I wonder if I just need to fertilize more often or if it’s just that they’re not getting enough light. I normally don’t plant them…I just set them down into the planter in their original pots, so that may be it as well. If anyone has any advice…I would love to know!

This little gazebo also needs some love! I realized that it hasn’t been painted since our daughter Lauren got married in 2014 so it’s definitely time. When we do our big kitchen renovation, sadly, it’ll have to come down, but we won’t be starting this summer (I need a break), so I’ll get out there and paint it one day soon. I’m kind of looking forward to it! The dogs will love to run around while I’m painting!

And…about my outfit! I’m almost head to toe in Brochu Walker. I think this brand exudes a relaxed and elegant lifestyle…one I’m not living at the time, but a girl can dream! The fabrics are luxurious and everything is so cozy and comfortable but still very elevated! I’ve had the pants since last spring and I paired them with a new short sleeve cardigan that I’m loving! It goes with everything…so cute with jeans and flats, and it’s also great unbuttoned with a tank underneath! The Marc Fisher sandals I’m wearing are some of my favorites. They’re very affordable and come in other colors. The style they did this season is slightly different, but still very versatile. My fabulous bag is from Savette and I’m obsessed with the color. It’s olive but brown at the same time and seems to match everything.
