I Am Me and I Am Proud to Be Me - Why We Should Tell the Stories of Our Lives
Release ... is experienced rather than "gotten," received rather than attained. And so it does not work to tell one's story in order to "attain" release; yet Release does emerge from the practice of telling one's story ... The deeper release ... is of our attachment to the chains that bind us.
“Tell the story of the mountain you climbed. Your words could become a page in someone else’s survival guide.” ~ Margan Haper Nichols
We tell our stories to transform ourselves…difficulties arise not because our stories happened and were painful, but because we BECOME our stories. They become who we are in our minds. When we tell our stories we are able to transcend them and make a difference in the lives of others and then our stories no longer imprison us. It’s like getting all the stinky stuff out into the light so it doesn’t stink so much anymore. WE become stronger for our storytelling and empower others to tell their stories. Tell your story and BE YOU!
Yesterday morning, I started what I know will be a very long blog post and it involves telling my story, but also ways that I got my life back on track. In all seriousness, no one ever has their life completely together 100% of the time, no matter how perfect their Instagram looks. We all have bad days, mess up, do and say things we wish we hadn’t, but we can all let those things go and get back on track once we have some tools in place to help. I hope you’ll check back and read my post next week. I’m sure there will be those who will be able to relate to so much of what I have to say and my hope is that we can start a conversation and empower each other with our stories.
In the meantime, just know that no matter what…you can be… powerful, kind confident, beautiful, strong, capable and grateful, just because you are here on this earth.
And now…about this fabulous sweatshirt. I have a growing obsession with the fashion of Anine Bing. I would describe the clothing as minimalistic, classic pieces with a definite edge.
I’ve had my eye on this fabulous sweatshirt for a while now and I love what it says! I’ve tried to order it several times, but it stays sold out! I was persistent and finally got it ordered and was so happy to see it on my doorstep yesterday morning. It was a little warm for a sweatshirt yesterday, but I wanted to share it so I braved the heat and took these pictures. I paired it simply with my Adidas sneakers and denim shorts. I’m linking all pieces below…yes, the sweatshirt is sold out again, but you can get on a waitlist and they’ll notify you when it’s back in stock. It’s thick, a little oversized and very luxurious. Also, I’m in love with my sneakers! What the heck happened to me…I used to hate sneakers and now they’re all I want to wear!
Thank you so much for reading today! I would love to know your thoughts, suggestions and anything else you have to say!
