Champagne Wishes & Caviar Dreams

Yes this post is a day late…it’s the one I had planned to post yesterday but life got in the way and that’s just the way things are sometimes! Baldy and I ended up celebrating Valentine’s Day with friends last night and I fell into bed exhausted but very very happy! It was a night filled with love and celebration that I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world!

I learned some really valuable life lessons from the events that transpired over the past few days but that’s a post for tomorrow! Today…I hope you enjoy my Champagne Wishes & Caviar Dreams bar cart setup! A rolling cart is such a great way to entertain and makes a beautiful presentation for most anything you want to serve! I had so much fun doing putting this together and I’m already thinking of more ideas!

Believe me when I say that there was not one little piece of caviar left when this was done and you know me and a nice bottle of Champagne!

Caviar is traditionally served with blini, which are mini Russian pancakes made from buckwheat, and creme fraîche, but I actually prefer salty potato chips and sour cream with chives! The salty flavors of the caviar and potato chips go so well with the creamy, rich and acidic sour cream. If you’ve never tried it this way, I highly recommend. I am not a martini girl unless it’s an espresso martini and I know some love their caviar with a martini, but I definitely prefer a nice glass of pink Champagne…it just hits the spot! To go along with the caviar, I added more richness (why not indulge?) with a triple creme brie served with homemade crackers, strawberry truffles and a tiny chocolate cake with chocolate icing (there is one little slice left and I will be enjoying that tonight!

More ways to serve caviar…

Caviar can be served on top of hot pasta dishes like ravioli and risotto, and on lightly-buttered dry toasts or bread. And on the off chance that you have leftover caviar, you could serve it on top of boiled eggs or omelets for breakfast, or with baked potatoes.

This setup took a little imagination…pulling things from the house to decorate the cart, but it was pretty effortless otherwise because everything was store bought with exception of mixing a few chives into the sour cream! I had a beautiful flower arrangement made, but it was too much and overpowered everything else, so I just used a couple of pink roses and it was perfect!

I ordered the caviar from Williams Sonoma and the little caviar server…believe it or not, came from Amazon! It’s so cute sitting on a silver tray and so fancy! I even bought the mini chocolate cake at the grocery store and it was pretty delicious!

My sweater is from And Other Stories (under $100) and I love it! It’ll be perfect for spring and I also purchased the same sweater in navy. The gold pants are older as are the shoes. I’m linking the exact sweater and similar pants and stilettos below. The star of the outfit is the jewelry from Julie Vos! I wear the pink more than you would expect and it definitely makes a statement!

Even thought I created this Caviar Bar Cart for Valentine’s Day, I won’t wait until next year to do it again! Life’s too short…make any day a special occasion!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post! Happy Weekend!
